Janet Rix is a Canadian artist living in Toronto, but takes inspiration for her creative work from trips to wilderness areas further abroad. She has an MFA from York University and has been an arts educator in Toronto for 22 years. Her creative work has included large scale projects and commissions for film and theatre, as well as solo exhibitions of her paintings. She is a multi-media artist, creating work in ceramics, printmaking, textiles, watercolour and acrylic. Janet's paintings are devoted to rugged landscapes in all weather and seasons. Ranging  from expansive panoramas to the tiniest lichen clinging to rock, her paintings aim to connect the viewer with the wilder textures of the natural world.
