Workshops Offered:

Linocut Printmaking is a fun way to make individual artworks, or to create repetitive designs on paper or fabric. I provide a supportive environment, individual attention, and all the tools and materials, including non toxic water soluble inks. Both simple and advanced options will be explored from single colour prints to multi-colour reduction printing. I provide plenty of visual examples and demonstrations. Participants will take away multiple prints on paper or fabric and hopefully a desire to try more printmaking!

(4 hour workshop, all materials included, $100)

Fun with Watercolours

Guaranteed a fun time exploring a range of playful and unconventional watercolour techniques in a supportive environment. Topics and demonstrations will also include traditional colour mixing and theory, wet and dry brushwork techniques, developing ideas with value and added detail.

You will learn to create smooth colour transitions, soften edges and lift colours, make interesting textures, preserve white light, plan compositions. Finally, the course will guide you through completing a landscape and/or botanical project.

(3 hour workshop, bring own watercolours, $75. or add $15 for materials provided.

Acrylic Painting /Approaches to Landscape

This course provides a supportive studio setting for those who have painted with acrylics before, even at a very basic level, and who wish to challenge themselves further. Students will be introduced to a range of tools, materials and techniques as well as review some important colour theory.  You will be guided to complete a landscape project while exploring expressive colour palettes, and approaches to dynamic composition. The focus will be on the creative process and development of individual expression.

(Generally offered as 2 full days or 4 half days,  by arrangement. $225)
